Electricstringed.com is hosted by string educator and electric violinist, Scott Laird who has been acitive in the field for over 20 years. First plugging in nearly 30 years ago with an acoustic violin and a primitive pickup system to play with his garage band while in high school, Scott has become an active recording artist and performer on electric violins in a variety of genres, established one of the first public school solid-body electric string quartets nationwide, has presented at conferences throughout the US and Europe on the topic of inspiring students with electric string technology, and integrates electric string instruments into many of his guest conducting appearances and speaking engagements. In addition, he teaches audio recording technology and incorporates concepts from the engineering world into his work with electric string instruments. Scott is a D’Addario Elite Clinician and an Educational Specialist with NS Design Violins and Coda Bows.
